INSISION Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement

May 13, 2009

Bassist Daniel Ekeroth has left Swedish death metallers INSISION. He says in a statement, "It is with mixed feelings I threw in my sweaty towel. This is a band I have worked with so much during the last decade, I can hardly picture myself without it. I remember joining an amazing young band with loads of ideas and talent, and together we took a hell of a ride through some great albums and tours over Europe, Thailand and Australia. And it was a fucking great ride! But as my publishing and writing activities have taken an increasingly big part of my life lately, I guess I knew it was coming to an end. I simply can't find the amount of time that is required to be a part of such an ambitious and complex band as INSISION anymore. I am confident that Roger, Carl, Marcus and Magnus will go on to create more amazing music in the years to come — and I will be the first in line to embrace it! As for now, I will hit back to my forest house…focusing on my next book project and also getting some much-needed rest."

Daniel's replacement in INSISION is Joel Andersson, who has previously played with IMMERSED IN BLOOD.

INSISION 2009 is:

Carl Birath - Vocals
Roger Johansson - Guitar
Magnus Martinsson - Guitar
Joel Andersson - Bass
Marcus Jonsson - Drums

INSISION's third album, "Ikon", was released in Europe on September 26, 2007 via Dental Records. The CD was recorded at Black Lounge studios (SCAR SYMMETRY, CENTINEX) in Avesta, Sweden. Mick Usher, who worked on INSISION's previous album, "Revealed & Worshipped", designed the new CD cover.
